Introduction

Betgames Andar Bahar is based on a traditional Indian card game. This is not the only version of live Andar Bahar you’ll find online, however, the Betgames version has two side bets that you won’t see anywhere else. The playing interface is unique,  and depending on how it has been deployed by the casino can have a negative impact on the playability of the game.

In this review, I’ll cover how to play Betgames Andar Bahar, highlight the differences between the other software suppliers’ versions and demonstrate in a brief video tutorial a few hands of play.

The game was first released as an exclusive game for Betway but has since been opened up for all licensees to offer their players.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

How to Play Betgames Andar Bahar

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”4/6″][vc_single_image image=”29539″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Betgames Andar Bahar is a live dealer table game played with one deck of fifty-two playing cards, that is freshly shuffled after each game round.

The first card, referred to as the Joker Card, is dealt face-up onto the table.

The two playing positions – Andar and Bahar, then receive a card each. The live dealer continues dealing cards alternatively to each playing position until a card with the same value as the Joker card is dealt. When this happens the game is over.

The objective of the game is to bet on the playing position you think will match with the Joker.

It’s as simple as that!

There are a couple of playing rules you need to be aware of:

  • If the Joker card is from a Black suit (Spades or Clubs), the first playing position to get a card will be Andar.
  • If the joker card is from a Red suit (Hearts or Diamonds), the first card will be given to Bahar.

Two optional side bets can be placed:

  1. Count – A bet on the number of cards that will be dealt before a match occurs.
  2. Joker Card – A bet of the suite, colour, or value above or below 8 the Joker card will be.

Placing Your Bets

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Bets are placed using a Betting Slip, reminiscent of how you bet on Sports.

On one side you have the bet type, including the available side bets. Clicking on the tab will display the betting options and the payout odds for each bet.

Select the bet you want to make and the amount on the bet slip and press Place Bet. The bet is now placed.

Betgames Andar Bahar Side Bets and Payouts

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Main Game Payouts

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Unusually, both Andar and Bahar have the same payout of 0.90:1.

This is for two reasons:

  1. firstly because the first card dealt to can be either Andar or Bahar.
  2. Secondly, it’s not even money 1:1 as the house needs an edge, so it takes 0.10 from the base game payout.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Count Side Bet Payout

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Count side bet is paid when you correctly guess how many cards are revealed before a matching card occurs.

The payouts increase as more cards are dealt onto the table. The trick is to decide which number band where the match will occur.

The Joker card is not used in the count calculation of the cards.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][table “794” not found /]
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Joker Card Side Bet

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]There are a number of options with this side bet. The bets all relate to the joker card, which is the first card taken from the deck. You can bet on the colour of the card, Red/Black, or the Suit, Heart, Spade, Diamond, Club or the value of the card is above or below eight.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][table “795” not found /]

Betgames Andar Bahar Playing Statistics

Three sets of results statistics are supplied in the playing interface. Detailed information on your results for each game can be found in your Bet History which is available at the top of the playing interface.

The statistics are supplied for two reasons. Firstly to show the specific results data for the last game rounds and secondly because people like to use the information to help create betting strategies.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Betgames Andar Bahar Results

These are fairly straightforward statistics. This is a visual representation of the last 49 hands played. With Red dots signifying an Andar win and Blue a Bahar win.

The percentage for each is shown, so you can see how the game has been trending. In theory, over the long term, the results should be even between Andar/Bahar, however, a much large sample is needed to show that.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”29538″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Joker and Number of Cards Drawn Result

This is a visual representation of the value of the Joker Card and the number of cards that were dealt before a match occurred.

Only the last eight rounds are shown.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”29537″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Betgames Andar Bahar Strategies

To be totally clear, this game is a coin flip. By that I mean there can only be one result from two possible options. Over the long term, the results should be 50% Andar, 50% Bahar.

Now we’ve established the long-term return, the questions are more about “how to bet” and whether it’s possible to win by using a strategy.

I would say it’s always important to play with a strategy, even if you change it while you’re playing. Just checking a bet on, may yield results, but you’ll miss the chance of following trends and therefore the chance to win a bit of money.

Betgames Andar Bahar does not payout a large amount on a winning bet. In fact, you get back less than even money, because the house takes some commission, 0.10 to be exact.

Strategy #1 – Follow the Trends

This is simple – look at the results statistics and see if a pattern has developed. Are the results flip-flopping or are they the same for the last few games? If the results are alternating – try following them for a few games. If they are the same, again follow them until you lose.

Now, this is the important bit, when you lose and you will, bet on the opposite and double your bet. We’re trying to get back on a winning streak and recover our losses. I’m using the martingale strategy to do this.

You must make sure you have enough bankroll to do this. You may need to double your bet 3 or 4 times before you get a win, the bet amount soon mounts up, so be careful!

Strategy #2 – Bet on The Side Bets Only

Forget the main hand of Andar/Bahar and place bets on the Side bets where you get a better return on your bet.

I favour the Count bets and also the Suit Bets. You’re not going to win often, but if you’re canny you can offset one bet with another to keep you in the game.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Return to Player (RTP)

The RTP for Betgames Andar Bahar is published at 95%. This will be based on the main hand only. The RTP for the side bets will be less.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Summary

Andar Bahar is a good addition to Betgame’s rather unique games. While it was introduced just for Betway, it is now an option for all casinos that have Betgames as a supplier.

The game does have an Asian focus and is aimed mainly at players from India.

The side bets and the way the cards are dealt at the beginning of the game hand are how this version is different from Playtech Andar Bahar and Ezugi Andar Bahar. Each is slightly different from the other – I’d encourage you to try them all.

I don’t like the way bets are made, especially if you’re playing with a restricted view. You have to scroll up the screen to reveal the betting options, which in my opinion is not good.

They should be integrated into the playing interface.

Aside from that, the game plays well and quickly and as you’d expect from Betgames, the Dealers are top-notch.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
