Introduction To Evolution Dream Catcher

Evolution Dream Catcher is a new breed of Live Casino game, giving players something different from the more traditional table games they are used to playing.

Dream Catcher is the first of Evolution’s Entertainment games, which offer players more than just a gambling experience.

The unique selling point of Dream Catcher is to deliver an entertaining gaming experience while providing the opportunity to win large sums of money for a relatively small stake.

While the concept of Wheel of Fortunes has been out for years in land-based casinos, Dream Catcher is a new version, with a new payout structure.

Wins can be boosted by landing on Multiplier segments that can increase wins by a minimum of 7 times the payout.  It is not unknown for the game to make a 7x7x7x40 payout of 13720 times stake![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Wheel of Fortune History

Wheels of Fortune are based on a simpler form of a roulette wheel. There are many different types of wheel, the most popular being the “Big 6” which the Evolution Dream Catcher is based on.

If you play in land-based casinos you’ll normally find Wheels placed strategically near the cashiers’ desk. The casino is hoping to tempt people with their last few chips for one or two spins of the wheel before they leave.

The wheel of fortune entered mainstream popularity when Merv Griffen, a TV producer, introduced one in the TV show “The Wheel of Fortune” in the 1970s.

The Evolution Gaming version is not the first live version. Betgames have a live Wheel of Fortune, but Evolution’s version has a number of unique differences that make the payout structure more appetising for adrenaline junkies.

How to play Evolution Dream Catcher

Roll forward to 2017 and Evolution have evolved the game further to attract a new audience to live casino games and perhaps provide a crossover game for slots players who love the big wins.

Dream Catcher in a Nutshell

  • The wheel has 54 equal segments.
  • 52 of the segments are marked with a number (1, 2, 5, 10, 20 & 40).
  • 2 of the segments are marked with a multiplier symbol (2x & 7x).
  • You bet on the number you think the wheel will stop at.
  • Each of the numbers has a different payout value. It’s easy to remember as the payouts are the same as the number value. 1 pays out your stake x 1, 5 pays out your stake x 5 etc.
  • If the wheel lands on the multiplier symbol then all bets remain and the wheel is spun again until it stops on a number. That payout is then multiplied by the multiplier. e.g. if the multiplier is 7x and then wheel then lands on 5 you get your stake x 5 x 7. (35 x payout).

Each number has a different payout and frequency that it appears on the wheel.

  • Number 1 (Yellow) occupies 23 segments.
  • Number 2 (Blue) occupies 15 segments.
  • Number 5 (Purple) occupies 7 segments.
  • Number 10 (Green) occupies 4 segments.
  • Number 20 (Orange) occupies 2 segments.
  • Number 40 (Red) occupies 1 segment.
  • Multiplier 2x occupies 1 segment.
  • Multiplier 7x occupies 1 segment.

Return to Player

The RTP for Dream Catcher is 96.58%.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Top Dream Catcher Playing Strategies

Like all games of chance, playing and winning strategies are always in the mind of the player. For Dream Catcher this is no different, in fact being a relatively new game, it’s sometimes difficult to know how to bet.

So I’m going to provide you with my top tips for betting on Evolution Dream Catcher. The aim is to provide you with longer playing sessions and more opportunity to win.

Tip #1 – There is no strategy that can guarantee you’ll win, only strategies to help you have a longer playing session and to make your bankroll last.

Tip #2 – Treat the wheel like a roulette wheel, so consider bets that cover a large portion of the wheel to give you the greatest chance of a return.

Tip #3 – Only bet what you can afford to lose. Bet proportionally to the amount of bankroll you have. If your bankroll is small you should place small bets. Big bets on a small bankroll, means you’ll lose quickly. A bet of 10% of your total bankroll is more than enough when playing Dream Catcher.

Tip #4 – Assess your attitude to risk.

  • Do you want a long playtime and be able to turn over your bankroll lots of times? – Then pick a Low-Risk Strategy.
  • If you don’t mind a short session and the risk of losing your money relatively quickly, but with the chance of a good win or two, chose a medium Risk Strategy.
  • If you’re gung-ho and just lust after the big wins – play a high-risk strategy. It may not last long, your emotions are bound to be tested and it’s highly likely you’ll lose everything quickly.

Low Risk

A good low-risk strategy would be to bet on the Number One, Two and Ten – which covers 77% of the Wheel – that’s 42 Segments out of 54.

Place one unit on 10, 3 units on one and two units on 2, total bet 4 units – you’ll break even if one lands, make 2 units profit if two lands and 6 units profit if 10 lands.
This is a slow build strategy – you won’t win big or lose big and you’ll turn your bankroll over lots of times. Cash-out when you’ve doubled your bankroll.

Medium Risk

A good medium risk strategy is to bet on Two, Five and 10. This will cover 26 Segments – 48% of the wheel, giving you a 50-50 chance.

Place 2 units on Two, 1 unit on five and 1 unit on 10. You’ll break even on Two, make a 2 unit profit on five and 7 units on 10.

High Risk

A high-risk strategy is to bet on the numbers 10, 20 and 40 – that is seven segments or 12% of the wheel.

A one-unit stake on each will return a profit on each number – but you have fewer numbers covered so you’ll have a lot of losing spins.

You can cover those losing spins by also betting on Number 1 with 3 or 4 units. 3 will break even 4 will make a profit. This way you’ll slow down the losses, but still, retain the opportunity for a bigger win.

Multipliers can have a big impact on the returns you get. There are Two multiplier segments on the wheel, which if landed on will multiply the next win by either 2times or 7 times. It’s possible to get multiple multipliers, doubling or even tripling up to create some huge payouts. Your hope is that some of these come in with the strategy you’re playing.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Dream Catcher is certainly a niche game and aimed squarely as a crossover product for players who haven’t played Live Games before.

While it is simple in its concept, like slots, there isn’t the excitement generated like when you trigger a bonus round. In slots you know you’re going to get something when that happens, it’s just a case of how much.

But with Evolution Dream catcher even if the 7x multiplier is active you still have to get a winning number to receive a payout.

It’s a hugely popular game that can be played for low stakes, with the opportunity to win big. It appeals to players new to live games and also slot players who want a bit of conversation when they play.

I’ve never seen a game this is quite like marmite (you love it or hate it), but the mechanic of the wheel has been used in other games produced by Evolution – so it will always have an important part to play in Live Casino.

The presenters really make the game. Evolution has recruited well. They keep the interest in the game going and generate excitement even when it’s not there.

Similar Games to Dream Catcher

Evolution has produced two games that use the DreamCatcher Wheel:

  • Monopoly DreamCatcher has an added RNG Bonus round that is entered when a successful bet lands on a 2 or 4 Rolls Bonus segment. It’s a monopoly themed game, look out for the Community Chest and Chance cards.
  • Crazy TIme is DreamCatcher with four bonus rounds. It’s mad and exciting at the same time. Huge wins are possible!

Playtech has produced:

Pragmatic Play has its Mega Wheel, which is a mash-up of Dream Catcher and Spin A Win.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
