Introduction to Playtech Live Dealer Andar Bahar

Playtech Andar Bahar is a live dealer card game that’s popular in Asian countries and especially India.

This is the most comprehensive version I’ve found to play online. It has the standard playing options, plus three optional side bets and a comprehensive set of game statistics that should help with future betting decisions.

The game is played using a single deck of fifty-two playing cards, which is shuffled between each game round. The dealer speaks Hindi, which is where the main market is, but quite honestly you don’t need to understand the language to understand how to play this cracking card game.

If I was to play this game regularly I’d certainly be using the Playtech version as it’s so comprehensive.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

How To Play Playtech Andar Bahar

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The Playtech version of Andar Bahar is played exactly the same as other versions, like Ezugi Andar Bahar and 7 Mojos.

The basic objective of the game is to pick and bet on which of the two positions, Andar or Bahar, will match with the Main card, or Joker card as it’s sometimes known.

The dealer uses a freshly shuffled deck of 52 playing cards and places the top card face up in a position to the right of the table.

Players are then invited to place their bets.

When the betting time has closed the dealer starts dealing one card face up to each playing position. This process continues until a card matching the value of the main card is drawn.

When that happens the game is over.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”29013″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Playtech Andar Bahar Side Bets

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]There are three optional side bets that can be placed once the main card has been placed on the table. You don’t have to play the main hand positions to be able to play the side bets.

  1. Andar/Bahar Wins on the first card – this side bet is for betting on whether the first card on either playing position will result in a matching card. If it does, the side bet will win.
  2. First 3 – This side bet uses the first 3 cards dealt, the Main card and the first Andar and Bahar cards. If these three cards form a poker hand, of either a Flush, Straight or Straight Flush you get a win.
  3. The Number of Cards Dealt – with this side bet you’re betting on the number of cards that will be dealt before a match with the Main Card occurs. The main card is not used in the calculations. You bet on number ranges – the more cards dealt the higher the payout becomes.

Payouts, Game Odds and RTP

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The base game odds and payouts are very similar to a game of Live Casino Hold’em or 3 Card Brag.

The Andar hand is always dealt first so this has an influence on both the main hand bet and also the First Card Dealt bet.

Andar returns a payout of  0.90:1 with a Return to Player of 97. 85%, while Bahar will pay even money at 1:1 and has an RTP of 97%.

In terms of the main side bets the First Three returns 95.76% for the overall bet, which is respectable for a side bet.

If you want to do better than that, play the Numbers side bet of 16-25, which has an RTP that is better than the main game with 98.10%.

This will payout a very reasonable 3.5:1, and is my top betting tip.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Playtech Live Andar Bahar Statistics

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]I often review games and the statistical information is generally quite poor. But Playtech has done a great job in compiling and presenting the statistics for their version

There is virtually everything you need to find out the history of past games and the trending information you might want for future betting decisions.

This game is played with a freshly shuffled deck of cards before every game round. The statistics, however, can be displayed for the last one thousand rounds. There’s is a slider so you can choose to display from one hundred rounds upwards.

What Statistics are Available?

There is a set of summary statistics that cover the main points you’ll be interested in:

  • History of the Hands that won, the Card Value and how many cards were dealt.
  • In addition, you get the stats of Andar vs Bahar over the previous 1000’s games displayed as a percentage.

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”29022″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Full Statistics

These statistics show two elements of the game. Firstly the frequency that the “Number of Cards” side bet comes in for a particular number range.

Secondly, how each of the main hands performed against each other, for each of the card values in the deck.

These are both goods stats to use if you’re thinking about betting on trends.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”29025″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Playtech Live Andar Bahar Playing Strategy

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]I need to start off by saying that this game is a bit of a coin toss.

The strategies you use are different depending on the part of the game your playing – so I’m going to step through each and explain what is likely and therefore what strategy to adopt.

If you look at the overall Return to Player Statistics, the best bet to play for the return you get is the Number of Cards Dealt 16-25 Range, which pays 3.5:1 on your stake.

The Main Hand Strategy

The main result is an even money bet, with a 50% chance of you picking the correct hand.

The obvious question, is there anything I can do to swing the odds more in my favour?

The honest answer is NO, but that doesn’t mean we can’t use trends and the rules of probability to help us make a decision.

I use the stats and compare the statistics from the last 100 hands with the last 500 to see how the results are trending. Then I bet on the one that has the higher number, and I keep betting on that until I lose, then I switch to the other.

First 3 Side bet Strategy

There are no statistics available for this side bet.  My advice is to play it every round or not at all. No half measures here – the long term profitability for the side bet is low – only play if you want some fun!

The Number of Cards Strategy

Now there are two things to consider with this side bet.

Firstly, the RTP of the 16-25 card range – which is virtually half the deck, is 98.10%. The payout is 3.5:1.

The actual chances of this bet coming in can be seen using the statistics. You’ll see that this one is high at 20%+ return. It makes sense to place a small bet on this one.

Secondly, look at the statistics and trends for the range that is popular for the last 5 game rounds. Place a bet on that.

The First Card Andar or Bahar Strategy

Keep away from this – it’s pure guesswork – have a flutter if you will, but I can’t say there is a strategy for playing this bet.

Thoughts on The Best Strategy for Playtech Andar Bahar

The most sensible thing to do is to play only ONE betting position. It doesn’t matter which, only place one bet each game round. Don’t go for multiple bets because if one wins the other is likely to lose and you’ll end up losing your bankroll really quickly.

Follow your gut and the advice I’ve given above. You’ll at least stand a chance of keeping your money for longer than you would be playing in a haphazard manner.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

What Is Playtech Andar Bahar?

This is one of Playtech’s new localised live dealer games. It’s a traditional Asian card game, where players bet on the Andar or Bahar playing positions, hoping to match a joker card that is turned over at the start of the game. There are some side bets that can be played alongside the main game.

How Many Players Can Play Playtech Andar Bahar?

An unlimited number of people can play at the same time, as all players are betting on the same set of cards. You don’t really get a sense of how many people are playing, so you can pretend it’s just you and the dealer.

What Is The Minimum Bet?

The minimum bet on Playtech Andar Bahar differs between casinos. I’ve seen some that offer a 1 £/$/€ a hand, which is probably the lowest you’re going to find.

Can I play just the Side Bets on Andar Bahar?

The side bets can be played on their own, you don’t need to place the main hand bet to play them. The only downside in doing this is the return to player is lower on the side bets than on the main hand.

What Side Bets Are There?

There are three side bets, First Three, which is a poker style bet that the first three cards will make a poker hand. Number Range is the number of cards dealt before the match is made. Andar/Bahar on First is for the first card matching with the main card.
